Background Ventilation Testing & Retrofit Assessments

Stay Compliant

Background Ventilation Testing and a Retrofit Assessment is crucial for architects, developers, self-builders, and consultants to ensure compliance with standards like PAS 2035. The testing is vital in retrofit projects where airtightness improvements may reduce natural ventilation.

What is Background Ventilation Testing?

Background ventilation testing ensures your building complies with PAS 2035 and has adequate natural airflow. It checks that passive ventilation (like trickle vents and airbricks) provides enough fresh air to keep indoor spaces healthy and prevent issues like damp and mould.

This is especially important in retrofit projects, where improved airtightness can reduce natural ventilation. Our assessors are fully qualified and IAA certified to use the bespoke Pulse Test solution to retrofit insulation, thus ensuring your projects are building regulation compliant and both occupant and your own commecial interests are protected.

What is a Retrofit Assessment?

A retrofit assessment is the first step in any energy efficiency upgrade. It evaluates your property’s condition, energy performance, ventilation, and occupancy to create a tailored plan that meets PAS 2035 standards and ensures long-term results.

We offer both services as a standalone or combined package.
